🔎The iliopsoas is a group of muscles made up of the psoas major, psoas minor, and iliacus. Together, they are powerful hip flexors that help bring the thigh toward the trunk and play an important role in activities like walking, running, and climbing stairs.

🧠Although the hip flexors are involved in countless movements, they’re often overlooked in strength-training programs. We tend to give the glutes and other hip extensors much more attention. However, the hip is surrounded by a variety of muscles that contribute to movement, stability, and force production, so developing strength throughout the hip musculature can be beneficial.

💡The goal isn’t necessarily to make every muscle around the hip equally strong, but to develop the capacity you need for the activities you want to perform.
